In a Utah courtroom, Gwyneth Paltrow testifies during the trial for a 2016 ski accident.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in court on Friday in Park City to testify in a trial regarding a skiing accident that occurred in 2016. Paltrow is accused of crashing into 76-year-old retired optometrist Terry Sanderson, causing several serious injuries and leaving the scene while they were both skiing on a beginner slope at Deer Valley Resort. Sanderson filed a lawsuit in 2019, claiming the accident left him with numerous injuries, including a brain injury, four broken ribs, and emotional damage. Paltrow filed a countersuit, claiming that Sanderson skied into her. Both parties are seeking damages and want the other to cover their legal costs. In her testimony, Paltrow repeated her claim that Sanderson had skied directly into her back and caused the accident. She is expected to call medical experts, ski instructors, and her two children to the stand next week as the trial continues.
